Trader Daye's Quarterly Theory framework built into Pine v6. Automatically divides every session into 90-minute quarters, draws the prior quarter's H/L sweep targets, and fires an SSMT label the moment a peer divergence is confirmed — with one-per-quarter locking to eliminate noise.
The 24-hour day is divided into four 6-hour sessions (MID, LDN, NY, EVE). Each session is further split into four 90-minute quarters (Q1–Q4). The grid is always on — it runs on the clock, not on price action.
NQ and ES normally move together. When a new quarter opens, both assets should respect the same Q-prev high or low. If one breaks it and the other refuses — a "crack in correlation" has formed. That is SMT.
Standard SMT can fire off any arbitrary swing. SSMT is strictly time-bound: the divergence must happen between two CONSECUTIVE quarters. Q-prev high/low is the only sweep target — older extremes are irrelevant.
The asset that REFUSED to follow its peer is showing institutional interest. It will lead the next directional move. SSMT▲ = refusing asset is bullish. SSMT▼ = refusing asset is bearish. The sweeping asset is the decoy.

Every label and line the indicator draws — what it means and why it matters
Peer swept BELOW the previous quarter's low. Chart asset refused. Trade LONG on the chart asset — it is showing relative strength and leads the next expansion up.
Peer swept ABOVE the previous quarter's high. Chart asset refused. Trade SHORT on the chart asset — it is showing relative weakness and leads the next drop.
Chart swept below prev-Q low. Peer refused (relative strength). Execute LONG on the peer asset — it is the "refusing" (stronger) asset this time.
Chart swept above prev-Q high. Peer refused (relative weakness). Execute SHORT on the peer asset — it is the "refusing" (weaker) asset this time.
The highest price reached in the immediately preceding 90-minute quarter. This is the target price the peer must sweep ABOVE to trigger a bearish SSMT.
The lowest price reached in the immediately preceding 90-minute quarter. This is the target price the peer must sweep BELOW to trigger a bullish SSMT.
00:00–06:00 ET split into four 90-min quarters. Institutions use this window to set up the directional bias for the London open.
06:00–12:00 ET. The most active SSMT window. European institutions overlap with overnight US positions — divergences here carry the highest conviction.
12:00–18:00 ET. NY open and afternoon. NY Q1 and Q2 (09:30–12:30 ET) are the prime NQ SSMT windows — overlap with London exit drives sharp divergences.
A framework by Trader Daye dividing the 24-hour session into four 6-hour blocks, each containing four 90-minute sub-quarters. Every significant institutional move can be mapped to a quarter boundary.
Common SSMT configurations — set the Peer Asset input to match your chart
| Chart Asset | Set Peer To | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| NQ1! (Nasdaq) | ES1! (S&P 500) | The primary SSMT pair. High correlation, distinct divergences during institutional transitions. |
| ES1! (S&P 500) | NQ1! (Nasdaq) | Same pair, opposite chart. Use when trading ES and wanting to see NQ lead. |
| GC1! (Gold) | SI1! (Silver) | Precious metals SSMT. Silver is often the leading leg — use SI divergence to time GC entries. |
| DX1! (Dollar Index) | EURUSD | Inverse correlation pair. DX breakout without EUR weakness = DX fade. Common macro SSMT. |
| BTC/USD | ETH/USD | Crypto SSMT. ETH leads BTC in most liquidity sweeps — divergence gives 1–3% moves reliably. |
SSMT is a confirmation tool — not a standalone entry
An SSMT label confirms relative strength or weakness between two assets. It is not a trigger to enter immediately. Always require: (1) a kill zone window (LDN 06:00–09:00 ET or NY 09:30–11:00 ET), (2) structural confirmation (CHoCH or BOS on the 1m/5m), and (3) a precision entry model (FVG or OB at the entry zone). Without all three, an SSMT label is a bias — not a trade.
